The Voice - Last Rounds of Battle

Some thoughts on the last rounds of battle on The Voice. Whether you agree or disagree with the judge's keeps and steals, one thing is certain -- many talents did slip down the cracks. Nonetheless, most of those move on are the cream of the crop so to speak.

Did the steals bring a lot of impact? Yes it did. But I think, there are some steals which were unnecessary. And tough luck for those who perform at the end of the battle rounds because Adam, Cee Lo and Blake already used up their 2 steal limit. I think the shows producers should look into this and restructure the format so everyone has equal chance of being stolen.

Daniel Rosa vs Alexis Marceaux

Whataya Want From Me

This was an odd pairing by coach Cee Lo. Alexis seems to have the upper hand since she is trained. However, Cee Lo does have a taste for the odd. And it wasn't a surprise why he chose Daniel's slurry style. I find that odd in Daniel but I dig how he feels what he sings.

Nicole Nelson vs Brandon Mahone

Ain't No Mountain High Enough

Another odd pairing but I kinda see that their voices have soul and mash together so well. It was also a tough decision to chose between the two. But for me, I liked Brandon more. Adam chose Nicole instead.

Free Your Mind

This battle of the pipes blew my mind. It was a good choice for Christina and a good steal from Blake.

Adriana Louise vs Jordan Pruitt

Hot 'n Cold

Another stellar battle between two pop power house. I do think Adriana gave more than Jordan. And Jordan deserves to be stolen which other coaches don't have at this point.

Michaela Paige vs Kelly Crappa

I Hate Myself fro Loving You

I didn't care for Michaela earlier. But in this performance, I think, she made herself known. She is definitely a rocker chick/dark horse of the competition.

Avery Wilson vs Chivonne

Titanium

WOW! Avery sounds so cool and current. He is definitely a star. I can't help compare him to Trevin. I wonder if there is room for two protege in Cee Lo's stable.

Not Over You

I been waiting to hear more of Cassadee but all was shown is a short clip of her battle round performance. Another contestant which I wanted to hear more from is Loren Allred who hasn't given much airtime as the rest.

At this point, I now have,more or less, my favorites in each team which I would share to you.

Next week will be the all exciting knockout rounds wherein the coaches form their teams composed of 5 artist.

The Voice 3 The Battles Eccentricity

Eccentricity defines this round of the The Voice Battles. Put in two kooky artist and an iambic song made a very haunting performance. I love Melanie Martinez's shy and raspy voice. It sound so unique and innocent yet  does have a maturity and power woven to it. It does mesh up quite nicely with the bold and troubled voice of Caitlin Michelle. Adam is right picking Melanie and I am glad Cee Lo got her dark princess. It makes an interesting event if ever these two will meet again at some point in the future rounds.

DOMO vs Cody Below #TeamCeeLo : A disastrous yet entertaining  rendition of "Telephone". Cody wins this one.


Charlie Rey vs Rudy Parris #TeamBlake: "Bad Day" for Charlie as Blake picked the seasoned Grand dad to move forward.

MacKenzie Bourg vs Emily Earle, #TeamCeeLo: Way to go MacKenzie winning a bit boring duel.

I guess they are having too much of a "Good Time".

Michelle Brooks-Thompson vs Adanna Duru, #TeamAdam: Not shown in its entirety but it would be crazy not to pick Michelle. Song "Crazy in Love"

Mycle Wastman vs Ben Taub, #TeamCeeLo: The battle was not shown in its entirety but it was "Too Close" to a split decision according to Cee Lo. I am glad he picked Mycle (what a unique spelling of a common name).

Awesome first night of The Voice 3 battle rounds

Wow! I am blown away with the first night of The Voice battle round was so awesome. It is like watching two prized fighters boxing it out on who will last until the end. I love two battles, in particular.

De'Borah vs Nelly's Echo

Message in the Bottle

Stellar performance between the two. Nelly's Echo started guns blazing. Clearly, he was so pumped up and really laying everything on the line. However, I feel he was bordering on over performing the song. De'borah, on the other hand, was the underdog from the start. She started out weak. But as the performance goes on, she began peaking and soar upward. Nelly's Echo was good, but it's clear De'borah wins this one.

Trevin Hunte vs Amanda Brown

Vision of Love

My question is "why did Cee Lo pair these two up?". And, only on seeing these two perform on stage, did Cee Lo realize his mistake. I guess he did underestimate Amanda's talent and experience. But I agree with him for picking Trevin. You can really see Trevin's inexperience playing on the most part of this pairing but his talent can't be denied. I am glad for Amanda that she didn't get eliminated and kudos for Adam for stealing her.
